Arrest and Recovery of Stolen Property - Cleeve Prior, Evesham - 12/06/08

***This is Message 40/08 from North Cotswolds Watch Office at Stow. On 2 May 2008, a joint operation took place at a travellers' site at Cleeve Prior, Evesham, involving police officers from Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and West Mercia forces. Officers seized a number of stolen items, including a Toyota Hilux Pickup, a quad bike, a caravan and a laptop computer. Several persons were arrested from the site and one remains in custody, whilst further enquiries are undertaken and which may result in additional charges being made.***

Stolen Cotswold Stone Tiles - UPDATE

***This is Message 39/08 from North Cotswolds Watch Office at Stow. On Tuesday, 3 June, police recovered two vans in the Northleach area which were found to contain a quantity of Cotswold stone tiles. It is thought that the tiles may have been stolen from the local area shortly beforehand. One of the vans had been stolen several months ago from the Stroud area and was bearing false number plates. One person was arrested during the course of the operation and is currently on police bail pending the results of scientific tests that are being carried out on the vehicles and their contents.***

Stolen Cotswold Stone Tiles - 03/06/08

***This is Message 37/08 from North Cotswolds Watch Office at Stow. Overnight between 1st & 2nd June, thieves stole 20 metres of Cotswold stone ridge tiles and some 20 sq metres of manufactured stone tiles from the roof of a barn between Yanworth and Fossebridge. Then overnight between 2nd & 3rd June, a similar quantity of Cotswold stone tiles were stolen from the roof of a bus shelter attached to a farm building between Eastington and Bibury. All Watch members are urged to look out for and report any suspicious activity around isolated farm buildings to the Police immediately. In addition, the Police at Stow would like to hear from you if you are aware of any building work in progress near you, where Cotswold stone tiles are being used. Call 0845 090 1234 and ask to speak to the Reception at Stow Police Station if you have any information.***

Theft of Lead From Schools - 24/04/08

***This is a County-wide NW Circulation on behalf of our Community Partnership Department. Over the past two weeks, we have seen a dramatic rise in the theft of lead from school buildings throughout the county. If you live near to or regularly travel past schools, please keep an eye open for any suspicious activity and report it to the police, using the 999 service if it is happening at the time. Any other information should be passed via the 0845 090 1234 number. Those responsible will often be on site for a considerable time committing these offences.***
